Cochrane Temiskaming Museums
and Art Galleries Association

The emergence of  The Cochrane Temiskaming Museums and Art Galleries Association (C.T.M.G.A.)  was really very simple logic. Professionals working in heritage and cultural preservation in Northern Ontario are literally far and few between. The isolation we feel  has been somewhat overcome through the establishment of this organization. Each institution, in its own right, displays, and maintains, a unique part of Northern Ontario's history and artistic expression, and while there are obvious areas of common ground among the member sites, each has been able to show an individualistic approach to their interpretation of the region's history.

The CTMGA helps to provide a “stonger unified  voice” among the North, which enables the promotion and group marketing of all our institutions to be more effective for all concerned.

“Sharing of skills in conservation, preservation, interpretation  -collections management, if you will - in the framework of geographically isolated sites experiencing our shared dramatic climate is one important aspect of this web site.”
